You won’t be able to watch ‘Chappelle’s Show’ on HBO Max next year.
HBO Max is following in suit with Netflix by removing ‘Chappelle’s Show’ by his own request. The comedian and actor, Dave Chappelle, called on his fans to boycott his own show as he isn’t getting profit from it thanks to the contract he signed with ViacomCBS.
Netflix, which has other ties with Chappelle, followed his request and has since pulled the show, but it wasn’t the only platform with streaming rights. According to Variety, who broke the story, HBO Max will pull the show at the end of the year.
“We had a conversation with Dave. I won’t get into it, but it’s very clear that it’s a very unique and specific and emotional issue he’s got. So at the end of the year, at the end of this year, December 31st, we’re going to honor his request and take the show down.”
It isn’t clear what the future of a show is going to be or whether it’s going to fade away.
