Naughty Dog’s ‘The Last of Us Part II’ has been named Game of the Year during this year’s Game Awards.
The Game Awards is underway and with it comes the prized title of Game of the Year. With so many spectacular titles, there were certainly plenty to choose from. This year the finalists were ‘DOOM Eternal,’ ‘Final Fantasy VII Remake,’ ‘Ghost of Tsushima,’ ‘Hades,’ ‘The Last of Us Part II,’ and ‘Animal Crossing: New Horizons.’
In the end, Naughty Dog’s ‘The Last of Us Part II’ came out on top and was awarded the coveted Game of the Year title. The decision to highlight this title comes as somewhat of a surprise due to the controversial nature of the game and its pre-release debacle.

Before it made it to the hands of gamers, a ton of the game was leaked and proved to be too preachy for some. While the leak was short-lived, having been axed by Naughty Dog quickly after its inception, it reached a wide audience and led to a slew of online protests.
